HappenPappen: Vegan Restaurant in Hamburg

I am always on the lookout for new, delicious vegan restaurants. I could spend hours and hours searching the internet for the next cool place to go to. And I also love travelling. This is why the first restaurant I want to share with you today is not in Frankfurt where I currently live. It is a vegan restaurant in Hamburg: HappenPappen (check out their website).
I tried this restaurant when I was visiting my best friend from university. She is not vegan and believe me, it took some time convincing her that it would be worth checking that restaurant out. But I finally managed to persuade her. And I am glad I did! She just told me the other day she is now practically a regular visitor of HappenPappen and goes there almost every other week. Mission successful, I guess!

How to get to HappenPappen

HappenPappen is located near the metro station "Feldstraße" just a short walk from there. The entrance itself is a little bit hidden but you can't miss the street sign with its logo.

The restaurant has space for approximately 20 guests and is self-service style. You come in, go up to the counter, place your order and they will bring it to your table. They offer a changing lunch menu including salads, sandwiches, curries, different cakes and desserts. Furthermore, HappenPappen serves breakfast on the weekends and burgers in the evenings.

What to eat at HappenPappen

My friend and I both got a curry - a peanut curry and a sweet potato curry. Let me tell you, it was absolutely delicious! I loved the creaminess of the curry against those crunchy peanuts. For dessert, I also had a carrot cake which sadly I did not take a picture of because it looked to good. I just couldn't wait to dig in.
We visited HappenPapen for lunch so the menu was a bit different from the evening menu. My friend told me she now likes to go in the evenings because of the burger bowls which they offer from 6 pm onwards. They are basically a buddha bowl with all the good stuff you get in a burger. But without the mess, I guess. Sounds absolutely amazing, right? I can't wait to visit Hamburg again and try them out.

You don't live in Hamburg? No problem - check out HappyCow which shows you vegan and vegan-friendly options near you. I use this site as a starting point for every city I visit.
